PMJAY ( UTIITSL Ayushman Bharat e-Card For Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna) Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 23, 2018, at Ranchi, Jharkhand. This scheme aims to help economically vulnerable Indians who are in need of healthcare facilities. The first-of-its-kind health cover scheme in India provides a cover of up to Rs 5 lakh per family per year, for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization, benefitting over 10.74 crore vulnerable entitled families.
The scheme offers financial security against medical treatment costs, diagnostics, medicines, and pre-hospitalization expenses.

The government health insurance scheme offers cashless hospitalization services through the Ayushman Bharat Yojana card which can be used to avail of healthcare services at any of the impaneled hospitals across India. Beneficiaries of the scheme can show their PMJAY card for necessary medical treatment. Once you are eligible for the PMJAY benefits, you can work towards getting an e-card. Before this card is issued, your identity
is verified at a PMJAY kiosk with the help of a document like your Aadhaar card or ration card. Family identification proofs that can be produced include a government-certified list of members, a PM letter, and an RSBY card. Once the verification is completed, the e-card is printed along with the unique AB-PMJAY ID. You can use this as proof at any point in the future.
